I'll Take Two!!
When it was over, Kobe Bryant acknowledged Sunday's game against Spain was his Team USA swan song. "This is it for me," he said. "The other guys are good to go."
It's an exit for Bryant on the international stage (or at least the stage of international competition -- watching his reception in London shows Kobe's career as an international superstar isn't ending anytime soon), where he had a great deal of success. It also foreshadows what's coming, domestically. More than once this summer, Kobe has made reference to playing two or three more years, not necessarily beyond, meaning significant moments like one last gold-medal game are no longer on some distant horizon. Kobe Sends Message To U.S Teammate Lebron On Rings...
If there was one thing to take away from the fantastic Dream Team documentary that recently aired, is just how much trash talk takes place when the world’s greatest basketball players join forces. It’s no different this time around, as Kobe Bryant and LeBron James headline Team USA’s for Olympic Gold in London. But before they head across the pond, Bryant will remind James that he has a long way to go before he catches up in the race for NBA titles. From SI:
“He’s going to be a different player,’ said [Tyson] Chandler of the impact the championship will have on [LeBron] James. Chandler should know because he became a champion with Dallas in 2011 at the expense of James and Miami. ‘LeBron was already an incredible player, and if not the best, top two — there’s only one other guy that can challenge that, and he’s on this team.’ Chandler was referring to [Kobe] Bryant, of course. ‘So his whole mentality is going to be different, because the confidence of winning an NBA championship changes a player,’ said Chandler. ‘Confidence — knowing you’re a champion, you’re the best. You walk around with that swagger, and he deserves it. He worked very hard and now he can call himself a champ.’

The breakthrough doesn’t change everything, as warned by Bryant. ‘One championship doesn’t get it, you know what I’m saying?’ Bryant said. ‘So for me, when we won one, it was a little different because it was, like you know, Michael (Jordan) had six, Magic (Johnson) had five. So me and Shaq (O’Neal) both were like, man, we got to get some more. One ain’t going to cut it.’ Surely James has been thinking the same way. ‘Yeah, I mean, since the last time we were here I got two,’ said Bryant, extending the vowel the way Jordan extended his fingertips after making his last championship shot in Utah. He let the ‘two’ hang out there without rushing onto the next sentence. ‘Dirk got one. He (James) got one.’ Has Bryant reminded James of the championship score? ‘Not yet,’ he said. ‘I will. I will.’”

KOBE out for second straight game! Will Bynum be ejected as well??
NEW ORLEANS -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant will not play Monday night against the New Orleans Hornets, sitting out a second consecutive game with an inflamed left shin.
Longtime Lakers trainer Gary Vitti evaluated Bryant on Monday morning and said Bryant's condition is improving, but that the 16-year veteran still needs more rest.
Bryant wore a walking boot following shootaround Monday and chatted with teammateRamon Sessions on the bench, but declined to speak to reporters.
Lakers coach Mike Brown said Devin Ebanks would "most likely" start in Bryant's place -- as Ebanks did in the Lakers' 125-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

Will Kobe be playing tonight??
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- In addition to a broken nose, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryantsuffered a concussion in the third quarter of the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday when Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade fouled Bryant across the face.
The 16-year veteran visited Dr. John Rehm, an ear, nose and throat specialist, on Tuesday morning where his nasal fracture was confirmed. Bryant was experiencing other symptoms related to the nose injury and was sent to neurologist Dr. Vern Williams, who diagnosed the concussion. READ MORE

Come back Victory for Kobe??
Another come-from-behind victory for Kobe Bryant ... sucking face with the woman who has now taken all of his homes, Vanessa Bryant ... and now TMZ can confirm the two are working on a reconciliation. Vanessa showed up for the Lakers Valentine's Day victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The two shared a kiss in the tunnel on the way into the locker room. READ MORE

Former Laker Robert Horry tells All
Robert Horry, who was on the Lakers from the 1996-97 season through 2002-03, believes coach Phil Jackson is to blame for the feud between Kobe Bryant and Shaqulle O’Neal, which led to Shaq’s departure from L.A. in ’04.
Shaq and Kobe were actually good friends, Horry said, until Jackson’s mind games drove them apart. READ THIS

Kobe endorsement gone bankrupt?!!
Kobe Bryant isn't getting a penny of his $25,244,493 salary from the Lakers this season, and now he can forget about getting a payout from an endorsement deal gone bad. The Hollywood hoopster is listed among the biggest creditors in bankruptcy papers filed for Power Balance LLC.
