Stick a fork in Lamar Odom ... 'cause he's officially DONE in Dallas.
Odom released a statement explaining he will "step away from the team" ... effective immediately.
He added, "I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship."
According to ESPN, Odom will leave the team ASAP ... but he will not be cut.
Instead, Odom will be listed as "inactive" for the rest of the season ... which means he could still be traded after the season.
Odom has been downright atrocious this season -- he's put up career low numbers and just hasn't appeared motivated on the court.
Sucks even worse for his wife Khloe Kardashian ... because the couple had just leased a condo in Dallas and had planned to begin shooting footage for the family reality show.

SOLD!!! To Magic Johnson & Co.
NEW YORK -- One Los Angeles institution is buying another.
A group that includes former Los Angeles Lakers star Magic Johnson and longtime baseball executive Stan Kasten agreed Tuesday night to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers from Frank McCourt for a record $2 billion.
The price would shatter the mark for a sports franchise. Stephen Ross paid $1.1 billion for the NFL's Miami Dolphins in 2009, and in England, Malcolm Glazer and his family took over the Manchester United soccer club in 2005 in a deal then valued at $1.47 billion. READ MORE

Conflicts with trading Tebow!
After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
In Tebow's contract is a $6.2 million salary advance, of which $1.2 million already has been paid by Denver, sources told Schefter. The difference of $5 million is still advanced against his future salary, and that burden would shift to the Jets in a trade. The Jets, sources said, believe the Broncos should owe Tebow that money. After being traded by the Lakers... Where will D Fish end up?
MIAMI -- The Miami Heat have an open roster spot and veteran guard Derek Fisher is a free agent. Fisher, after completing a multiyear buyout with the Houston Rockets, is looking for a role on a contender.
The question is whether Fisher makes any sense for the perimeter-stacked Heat or if he still has enough left in the tank to help a team make a title run.
"One thing you know about Derek Fisher is that he's a winner; he's not afraid of the moment and he's won multiple championships," Heat star LeBron James said Monday.
"I don't know what our plans are but I don't see it as a bad fit it if happens. What we have we're comfortable with, but he could fit anyone's team because of his leadership and his commitment to winning."

Lakers clear the Air with Gasol... Sort of
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- It may not have been what Pau Gasol was hoping to hear. And it certainly wasn't the kind of blanket -- trade him now or don't trade him at all -- answer thatKobe Bryant had asked for. But after months of silence, worry and uncertainty, Gasol and Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak did indeed speak to clear the air about the Spaniard's future with the team.
Shortly after Bryant's very public demand for Lakers management to provide some clarity for the team, and specifically for Gasol, about its intentions at the trade deadline, Kupchak called Gasol and spoke to him at length about the situation. READ MORE

He loves So Cal's warm weather... hint hint
LOS ANGELES -- Deron Williams emerged from the training room looking tired and drawn. While reporters huddled around teammates Kris Humphries and Jordan Farmar, Williams sat quietly at his locker, holding his cell phone and stroking the bottom of his goatee. He was too upset to get dressed or soak his feet in the ice bucket in front of him, or to read through any of his texts. READ MORE...
