Mayweather Family Displaying Their Ignorance

Manny Pacquiao doesn’t have it very easy these days. From his alleged comments about gays that were misquoted and exaggerated to his recent match against Timothy Bradleywhich ended in a controversial split decision making his first loss in seven years, he now is on the receiving end of a round of racist ridicule from Roger Mayweather.
Not to be confused with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roger is Floyd Jr.’s uncle and trainer, and apparently the racist gene runs in the family. Floyd Jr., who posted less-than-flattering comments on his Twitter account about Jeremy Lin, hasn’t made any comments so far about the fight because he is currently serving time in jail for domestic violence. Here are some of the comments posted on Twitter directed at Manny Pacquiao from Roger Mayweather (courtesy of Lauren B):

What happened to FREEDOM OF SPEECH?

Who knew that Manny Pacquiao’s toughest opponent wasn’t Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Timothy Bradley, but the entire lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender (LGBT) community?
As far as gay-rights advocates are concerned, it’s a knockout.
The consensus on the Net is that the Filipino boxing champion has fallen from grace because of his rant against gay marriage. It has also ignited an online petition for Nike to drop Pacquiao as endorser. An Internet report claimed Pacquiao is now barred from The Grove, a shopping mall in Los Angeles, where the TV show “Extra” is taped, because of his “bigotry.” READ MORE

NO 50-50 Share!

NEW YORK -- A trumpet blared a fanfare to introduce Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto as fans at the Apollo Theater cheered the start of Tuesday's news conference to promote their May 5 fight in Las Vegas.
Still, there appeared to be far more interest in the fight that's not happening -- a matchup between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather made clear that whether they meet in the ring is about the money -- breaking down the shares in what could be boxing's richest fight ever. READ MORE

Paquiao choosing religion over his boxing career??

Before Manny Pacquaio defeated Juan Manuel Marquez in November, his hobbies included womanizing, drinking, and gambling. He even owned roosters he used for fighting. But sometime after the Marquez bout, according to the Filipino newspaperMinda News, Pacquaio began attending Bible study classes—and with gusto. READ MORE

Mayweather moves on... gets fight v.s Cotto

LAS VEGAS – Floyd Mayweather Jr. made the only choice he could since being unable to land a fight with Manny Pacquiao, announcing at a Nevada Athletic Commission licensing hearing Wednesday that he would fight World Boxing Association super welterweight champion Miguel Cotto on May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are widely considered the world’s top two fighters and have been negotiating to fight each other on and off since late 2009. READ MORE

Question: Seeing that Mayweather is now going to fight Cotto... is Paquiao now the one "dodging" the chance to have such an anticipated fight against Mayweather?

Who's Ducking Who?? LET'S GET IT ON!!

“It’s just so crazy that a guy can pop up out of nowhere and become such an amazing fighter,” Mayweather said. “A guy like me has been doing it since the ’90s, dominating the sport and beating the best out there. This guy just popped up out of nowhere and people are trying to say he’s on the level of a Floyd Mayweather, when I’ve been dominating and doing this for almost 20 years now.”
Mayweather won his first world title in his 18th pro fight on Oct. 3, 1998 – 13 years ago Floyd, not 20 – when he was 21 years, 7 months old.
It might surprise Mayweather to know that Pacquiao won his first world title just two months later, on Dec. 4, 1998, in his 25th pro fight. Pacquiao was two weeks shy of his 20th birthday when he won the World Boxing Council flyweight title. READ MORE

Mayweather ready to Fight Paquiao

Floyd Mayweather Jr., who for the past two weeks has been relentlessly calling for fellow welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao to fight him on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, raised the chase to a new level on Wednesday night -- he called Pacquiao on the telephone and spoke directly with him in the Philippines.
"They spoke," Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisers, told ESPN.com on Thursday. READ MORE...
